The HHPS is pleased to welcome Roger Carlton Sherman, former Board Chairman of the Henry B. Plant Museum in Tampa and a donor to the Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg and the Lightner Museum in St. Augustine among others as our August Guest Speaker.  He moved to the Brooksville area from Tampa where he had an historic Green Brothers style bungalow in the Hyde Park Historic District.

Following the presentation we will have a live auction of about 30 items consisting of paintings, engravings, cloisonne, crystal and porcelains.  All the proceeds will go to the Society’s Historic Marker Program.  The event will begin at 6:30 with a preview of the auction items beginning at 6:00. Admission is FREE.  Light refreshments will be served.

Please note that due to a scheduling conflict at City Hall, the location for the August 3rd meeting has changed.  The NEW LOCATION for this meeting will be the Brooksville Mining Association Enrichment Center located at 800 John Gary Grubbs Boulevard on US 41 (Broad Street) in Brooksville. (McKethan Park Entrance between O’Reily Auto Parts & Luigis).


Wine About It – Thursday, July 27

Mark your calendar for the 4th Thursday of each month to join the Brooksville Main Street at Wine About It, held at the Rising Sun Bistro from 5-7 pm. The monthly event allows you to meet with others interested in the future of historic downtown Brooksville. Wine will be poured by Ryan Malloy, Brooksville Main Street Director, along with special guest bartenders from the City.

Support Brooksville Main Street Project

The Brooksville Main Street Program is kicking off the fundraising for a Placemaking Project for the Fall, launching their fundraising efforts through the help of  They are a non-profit tasked with educating other non-profits on how to use Crowdfunding as a resource to raise money.  Brooksville Main Street has already been awarded $200 for having launched their first campaign with them, but will also be eligible for an additional $500 of free funds just by completing 10 donations before JULY 28th, 2017.
